Voice Anywhere, Everytime
ARRIS began to develop solutions specific to addressing cable telephony in an effort to support cable operators entering the voice arena in early 1990’s, Today cable systems rely on ARRIS CMTS solutions, Touchstone Embedded Multimedia Terminal Adapters (E-MTAs), ServAssure and HouseCheck network monitoring systems, and the ARRIS industry leading professional services team to deliver primary line carrier grade voice service for residential and business applications. Touchstone E-MTAs provide 1-, 2-, 4-, 8- and 12-voice line models, plus a high-speed data connection, for both residential and small-to-medium businesses. The ARRIS wireless residential gateways provide two analog voice lines, up to four port routing and a wireless access point for whole house coverage. By incorporating robust features and tools for troubleshooting and diagnostics such as the Touchstone Call Quality Metrics and Loop Diagnostic features, ARRIS has a position as a preferred supplier to many cable voice network operators.
Supporting the cable community in the development and deployment of voice has positioned ARRIS as the leader in supplying global cable telephony equipment, with millions of lines deployed worldwide. Trials of the ARRIS Cornerstone® Voice system began in late 1995, and commercial deployment began in 1996.
Since early 1999, ARRIS has blended its circuit-switched constant bit rate (CBR) expertise with IP research and product development, to become the world’s leading provider of VoIP with PacketCable™ Quality of Service reflecting “five 9s” (99.999%) carrier-grade reliability, and enabling services that meet or exceed that available from incumbent local exchange carriers.
To take advantage of this fast-growing industry segment, the ARRIS C4® Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS) provides carrier-grade compliance with DOCSIS® (Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification), Euro-DOCSIS, and PacketCable, for both voice and tiered data services over converged IP networks.
ARRIS provides cable telephony solutions for carrier grade Voice over IP service, supporting PacketCable, Networked Control System (NCS) and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Protocols.
