CMTS

Superior CMTS delivers greater revenues

For cable operators looking to provide exceptional service to subscribers and to maximize revenues from new offerings, a high-performance cable modem termination system (CMTS) is critical. As the market continues to transform and transition to a convergence of voice, data and multimedia services, the right CMTS can speed this transition and help operators lay claim to a greater share of their market. When choosing a CMTS, high performance is a must, as it affects quality of service, customer satisfaction and ultimately potential revenues. For best-of-breed cable modem termination systems today, cable operators around the world are turning to ARRIS.

ARRIS provides world-class CMTS products

A global communications company serving the cable industry, ARRIS offers two CMTS products designed to serve the needs of cable operators in any size market.

The ARRIS C4® CMTS is the first high-performance carrier-class CMTS for advanced IP services. With no single point of failure and 99.999% availability, the C4 CMTS allows operators to increase subscriber satisfaction and retention. By guaranteeing delivery of differentiated and dynamic services, this superior CMTS presents new revenue opportunities like tiered data telephony and streaming video. The C4 solution is DOCSIS® 2.0, Euro-DOCSIS 2.0 and PacketCable™ 1.0 qualified and can serve up to 4,500 cable modems per downstream (52,000 cable modems per chassis) or voice capacity of up to 1,800 lines per downstream (32,000 lines per chassis.)

The ARRIS C3™ CMTS is a flexible, powerful and easy-to-use system for next generation IP services. The C3 CMTS is a DOCSIS 2.0 qualified solution that occupies only a single unit of rack space and allows operators in any size market to successfully deploy advanced DOCSIS functionality. The C3 unit allows operators to select either Layer 2 or Layer 3 forwarding, and supports more than 2,000 cable modems or users per system. With the C3 CMTS, operators can offer advanced tiered data, peer-to-peer, and voice telephony services over converged IP networks to both residential and commercial subscribers.
